Taylor Swift has released her first video blog in two years, documenting her surprise appearance at a fan’s bridal shower on Sunday.

The singer stunned superfan Gena by flying to Columbus, Ohio with a box full of gifts after learning the bride-to-be had invited her to her pre-wedding bash.

Introducing the four-minute film by tweeting, “I haven’t done a video blog in about 2 years but this was so much fun, I had to”, Swift appears excited as she makes the journey to Gena’s party and then surprises her as she waits for guests to arrive.

The video features Swift meeting Gena’s family as the giddy bride-to-be opens both practical and personal gifts from her idol. The film ends with a touching message from Swift as photos of her day with Gena flash up onscreen.

Rice replaces ice in India bucket challenge

An Indian school boy eats a midday meal provided free at a government school in Hyderabad, India, Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013. India has offered free midday school meals since the 1960s in an effort to persuade poor parents to send their children to school, a program that reaches some 120 million children. The country now plans to subsidize wheat, rice and cereals for some 800 million people under a $20 billion scheme to cut malnutrition and ease poverty.

The famous "ice bucket" challenge is inspiring thousands of Indians to follow suit, but with a twist - they are replacing ice with rice to help the country's hungry people.
